PILLS OF NOSTALGIA

Year: 2016
Type: Art Project

The pills are made of this generation's common memory in Taiwan.

A workshop opened to graduate students was held for this project. We asked participants to bring several items and write about their memory connected to them, then describe the relation between the items and the space where they were placed. Thus items can be easily categorized into different types, each type is a residential space, such as bedrooms, garage or study. Moreover, a mapping of our memory that is possessed by all of us can be dicovered. We found a hydraulic press and turn these assorted items into condensed pills, or high-density nostalgia. We can be connected by these pills, no matter who the materials belong to.
